Malawi Fruits has bases in Mzuzu and Rumphi and a sunflower oil factory at Kakloha. We support small scale farmers throughout the Northern Region.
We supply greenhouses and solar irrigation pumps using a rent-to-own model, associated farm extension work; chilled produce storage with training on post-harvest handling to reduce crop losses; production of organic fertiliser (vermiculture process) which is moving towards commercial scale; seed multiplication; and sunflower growing and processing.
Tiveni has a lovely office in Mzuzu and alongside that we have a very successful demonstration garden. Our small organisation is in the business of training farmers in effective conservation agriculture. We may be small and we only react to requests for training from farming communities but we now have 15,500 who have adopted what we call Deep Bed Farming.
With little more than pickaxes and some training, thousands of farmers have dramatically increased their crop yields from one harvest to the next - with long-lasting results.

Temwa is a sustainable community development. Our catchment area covers Nkhata Bay North, a constituency in Nkhata Bay district.
Founded in 2003, Temwa empowers poor and left-behind rural communities. People we work with face multiple, mutually reinforcing challenges including poverty, poor health, low education levels and environmental degradation. We use an interlinked ‘systems’ approach - working with and through local governance to understand and then strengthen people’s capacity to address their challenges.
